High-precision and high-speed 3D scanning at an unbeatable price.
The DAVID SLS-2 scanner employs innovative Structured Light technology which allows precise 3D scanning in a matter of seconds.

The scanner is mobile and can easily be placed in front of the surface to be scanned. A single click in the well-proven DAVID software starts the scan – and a few seconds later the digitized 3D model shows up on your screen. This way you can subsequently scan all sides of the object, and combine them into a closed 360° model. The modular hardware setup allows a flexible adaptation to your object – any size from coin to couch is possible.

The results can be exported into common 3D file formats (OBJ, STL, PLY) and processed in other applications, for rapid prototyping, inspection, product presentations, archaeology and cultural heritage, works of art, computer animations, video games…The limits are set by your imagination.

New Structured Light Scanner SLS-3

New Structured Light Scanner SLS-3

The new DAVID SLS-3 is the bigger brother of the well-proven SLS-2. It offers a higher scan resolution and higher speed at the same time.
The main improvement is our new full-HD camera, the DAVID-CAM-4-M. It has a fast high-resolution chip and a USB-3 interface, which is why it is possible to scan at 54 FPS at maximum resolution (1920*1200) and still be about 50% faster than the SLS-2. Furthermore, we have improved some hardware and software details to make handling even easier.

Scan size: 60-500 mm
Resolution/Precision: 0.05% of scan size (down to 0.05 mm)
Scanning time: One single scan within 2 seconds (or up to ~10 seconds, depending on settings and computer speed)
Mesh density: Up to 2,300,000 vertices per scan
Export formats: OBJ, STL, PLY
This does not mean that the SLS-2 has lost its value. We have many customers who don’t need the highest speed or resolution; in fact the SLS-2 resolution is often more than some users require, and they reduce the data afterwards. You may want to go for the SLS-2 and save some money. If you need the extra speed and resolution, or simply want the best there is, then the SLS-3 should be your choice.

3D Fingerprint Scanning

This package contains everything you need to set up your own 3D scanner. Just hold the laser tube in your hand and sweep the laser line over the object you wish to scan: a sculpture, anything at all. DAVID LASER SCANNER will immediately generate a 3D model on your PC, capturing even fine surface details down to 0.2mm.

Simply scan all sides of the object separately, including top and bottom. The software will align and fuse all scans to create a textured all-round model. The results can be stored and used in various standard 3D file formats (OBJ, STL, PLY), for computer animations, games, virtual 3D environments, product presentations, works of art, archaeology…The limits are set by your imagination.

DAVID Accessories

Automatic Turntable TT-1

In combination with the DAVID 3D Scanner Software (Version 4), the TT-1 turntable makes 360° scanning so much easier and faster. The scan objects are simply placed on the TT-1 and can be rotated and scanned automatically at different angles (your choice) by using the DAVID 3D Scanner Software.

Desk Scan Support DSL-1

With the new DSL-1 you can mount the SLS-2 much more easily, for example at workstations or right on your table. The scanner is freely adjustable in every direction. No more annoying cables, no more tripping hazards – simply more performance.

DAVID Pro Software

DAVID 3D Scanner Software v. 4 Pro
Highly flexible 3D scanning software

This software enables inexpensive 3D scanning of objects and surfaces.

Laser Scanning
All you require is a video camera (eg a webcam), a line laser (we offer suitable, cost-efficient laser modules), and a 90° “corner” as background.

Our Starter-Kit contains pre-selected hardware, and offers the best value for money. If you want to build your own scanner, please see the FAQs on our website for more hardware recommendations.

Structured Light Scanning
Structured Light Scanning uses a video projector instead of a laser. Advantages: no 90° corner calibration plates required during scanning. No manual laser movement. Much faster scanning. Turntable support available for fully-automated 360° scanning.

We recommend our SLS-2 and SLS-3 hardware packages. If you want to build your own scanner, please see the FAQs on our website for more hardware recommendations.

Our most powerful software package is the DAVID 4 ENTERPRISE version. Beside the well known DAVID features, it offers you several measurement tools to make quality inspections.

To automate those features, a main part of this version is the DAVID SDK (Software Development Kit). It allows you to include DAVID in your own hardware / software environment. You can automate the scanning and analysis process, or wrap it into your own graphical user interface.

Multiple scanners and client software can be distributed over various computers and operating systems, communicating via Ethernet or over the internet.
